Unmanned Aerospace participated in the Department of Defense Energy & Environment Innovation Symposium held in December 2024 at the Washington Hilton. The annual event, hosted by SERDP, ESTCP, OECIF and OEPF, brought together leaders in defense technology, sustainability and operational energy innovation.
As part of the event’s Commanding Energy Call for Proposals, Unmanned Aerospace presented the GH-4 hydrogen-electric autonomous gyrocopter — a next-generation solution for ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship logistics.

Driving Innovation in Energy-Efficient VTOL Rotorcraft
The GH-4 was featured as part of the ENGAGED (Expeditionary Next Generation Autonomous Gyroplane Electric Demonstrator) project, which was awarded multi-year funding under the FY24 OECIF initiative. Designed for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), low-maintenance operation and all-electric flight, the GH-4 meets critical mission demands while aligning with the DoD’s goals for energy resilience, sustainability and logistics modernization.
Unmanned Aerospace’s presence highlighted its growing role in next-gen VTOL aircraft development, offering clean-energy, scalable alternatives to legacy rotorcraft for naval logistics and ISR operations.
